YS Net Reveals New "Shenmue III" Details Ahead of Release
YS Net hit up the PC Gaming Show at E3 to unveil new details on Shenmue III before the game launches this fall. While previously planned for an August release, Shenmue III will be hitting in late November. And it will not be launching on Xbox One, instead hitting PC and PS4.
In fact, the third game will be hitting PC on the Epic Game Store, rather than Steam.
PC Gamer has further details, of course:
Shenmue 3 will be releasing on the Epic Games Store—though whether it will be launching only on the Epic store we don't yet know. Creator Yu Suzuki appeared on stage at the PC Gaming Show briefly to thank fans and introduce the new trailer, but didn't address this new development.
If Shenmue 3 is now an Epic exclusive (it'll also be on PlayStation 4), that will undoubtedly upset many of its PC fans. Though the Shenmue 3 Kickstartercampaign never promised which marketplace its PC version would be available on (it's always said that backers can choose a "Windows PC" version of the game), its system requirements have frequently mentioned requiring Steam. A Kickstarter community update on June 4 still lists Steam as a requirement, so it could be that Shenmue 3 is simply launching on both platforms simultaneously and isn't an Epic Games Store exclusive.
Granted, the game may also hit Steam, but the new trailer only has badging for the Epic Game Store. So we'll just have to wait and see.

Shenmue 3 gets another gameplay trailer, this time full of punching and kicking as our hero takes on a band on drunken thugs.
