Arrow Season 6 Will See Felicity Smoak Start Her Own Company

One of the stories that Arrow writers were thinking of doing but never got to last year looks to be coming up this year. There was talk about Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) starting up her own tech company, but the Helix storyline took over and that got put to the side. According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, that's coming back as he told TVLine:

"That was something we wanted to do last year, and then we got sort of seduced by the Helix storyline. I would say that people wanting that storyline will be happy, but for reasons that I think will be very obvious, it can't be called Smoak Technologies. And all those clever readers who are like, 'That's because she'll be changing her last name to Queen,' it's not Queen Technologies, either."

Felicity Smoak

The Smoak Technologies name came up on Legends of Tomorrow when in the first season the team went to the future Star City, found John Diggle Jr. (Joseph David-Jones) as the Green Arrow and that at some point Felicity had changed the name of Palmer Technologies to Smoak Technologies…which had once been Queen Consolidated. I can't see any reason at the moment why they couldn't call her new company Smoak Technologies, but perhaps Guggenheim means that something in the new season will make it obvious.

But she definitely needs to start up some kind of business, because Curtis (Echo Kellum) is going to need a job at some point.

Arrow Season 6 premieres on Thursday, October 12th.
