Did You See Stephen Colbert Cosplaying As Prince Hawkcat At San Diego Comic Con?

This cosplayer was intercepting Comic Con goers this weekend, calling himself HawkCat…What (who) is this thing?

The answer came from Archardy

My guess is that this is one of four things – a super unknown minor character in some unknown story that no one has ever seen or heard; an original persona he made for cosplay; a prank run by a tv show to make fun of cosplayers; or a celebrity who wanted to go to comicob and walk amongst the masses incognito. My bet would be its a prank by a comedy show.

A little more info…my husband spotted the awesome Maleficent cosplay during Comic Con this weekend (in bg of picture) and really wanted a picture with her. He steps up, and is immediately intercepted by another cosplayer calling himself HawkCat and coerces my husband into taking pictures with him. I've tried googling 'HawkCat' to no avail. Colbert even mentioned this crazy guy last night, but I still can't figure out what he's from!

Here's a clip of that. The clue was right there!  Stephen Colbert went to San Diego Comic Con, not just for the Lord Of The Rings panels…

He announced that he has invested his life savings in The Adventures Of Prince Hawk Cat, "Half Hawk, Half Cat, All Prince" and "The most popular human animal hybrid fantasy franchise ever published in Esperanto."
