First Look at Jack Whitehall in Jungle Cruise
Dwayne Johnson loves to share behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of his movies. Johnson is presently filming Disney's Jungle Cruise and shared a new behind-the-scenes image. We got a first look at Jack Whitehall's character, and he looks a wee bit terrified of the snakes they are holding.
Johnson shared another image from the set of his co-star Emily Blunt and director Jaume Collet-Serra.
Whitehall's character, who will be openly gay in the film, has received some backlash as the role was described as "hugely effete, very camp and very funny." Some took issue with the stereotypical-sounding attributes of the character while others criticized the film for casting another straight actor as a gay character.
Summary: Based on Disneyland's theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles, but with a supernatural element.
Jungle Cruise, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jesse Plemons, Paul Giamatti, and Edgar Ramírez. It opens October 11th, 2019.
