Game Of Thrones: A Story In Special Effects

HBO is continuing their behind-the-scenes looks at Game of Thrones as we approach the start of Season 7. This latest video has Sam Conway, special effects supervisor, talking about how he got into the industry.

It was a family thing for Conway, as his father did effects for some Monty Python films and he would watch his father work. Conway describes his work as figuring out how to carry out what the show execs wants to see safely and effectively. It's a technically difficult thing to do, and you have to make it look good while you're doing it.

Game of Thrones Season 7 starts July 16th on HBO.
