Gotham Shares The Rise And Fall Of Edward Nygma
The thing I like most about Gotham is when they take a character like Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) or Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and build them up slowly until they start to look like the comic book villains the Penguin and the Riddler… and then tear them back down before starting to build them up again. Though this was labeled as a prequel series about Batman, the villains have been the most interesting part, but that is likely to change as Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) is now out protecting the city.
The poster shows that, though it was released before the premiere got moved up a week:
The video below shows a mashup of the rise and fall of Edward Nygma. From his days as the quirky CSI for the GCPD and his unrequited love for Kristen Kringle, to his killer her boyfriend and then her. His friendship with Oswald that would lead them to running the city and there eventual split as Penguin betrayed him because of love. All of this moving Nygma forward until he earned the named the Riddler… and then he ends up as a giant Popsicle after trying to kill Oswald multiple times.
Gotham returns for season 4 on September 21st.
