This morning it was revealed that the ongoing troubled reboot of iconic gothic superhero classic film The Crow had lost both its director and star in the same report.

Jason Momoa has taken to his Instagram to address his departure from the film, saying simply:

I've waited 8 years to play this dream role. I love you @corinhardy and @sonypicturesunfortunately I may have to wait 8 more. Not our team. But I swear I will. James O'Barr sorry to let you down I won't on the next. This film needs to be set free. And to the fans. Sorry. I can't play anything but what this film deserves and it needs love. I'm ready when it's right. Love u Corin aloha j

His passion for the role and source material being ever present, the sudden pull out of both director Corin Hardy and Momoa left many fans wondering what the real reasoning was.

Maybe we'll never know, and The Crow reboot will never happen.
