Jim Ross And Lita Will Be The Announcers For WWE's Mae Young Classic Women's Tournament
WWE has officially announced the full commentary team for its Mae Young Classic women's tournament taking place in July. Good Ol' Jim Ross will be joined by WWE Hall-of-Famer Lita, according to a press release on WWE's website. Additionally, WWE revealed that the tournament will stream in two chunks of four episodes each, the first available on demand on August 28, and the second on September 4.
The tournament historic tournament features 32 women from 17 countries around the world, some WWE talent and some not, competing for the chance to claim the honor of being the inaugural winner of the tournament named after the wrestling legend Mae Young. WWE hopes that the tournament will make people forget about its recent historic first ever Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, in which James Elsworth, a man, climbed the ladder and retrieved the briefcase.
"The Mae Young Classic is a unique and exclusive offering for WWE Network subscribers and further highlights our ongoing commitment to the 'women's evolution' in sports and entertainment," said "The Game" Triple H in the press release, doing his best to fit as many corporate buzzwords as possible into a single statement. "It's a privilege to showcase these talented women from around the world and to provide them with an opportunity to shine before a global audience on WWE Network."
Triple H then refused to leave the press release and began cutting a promo for twenty-five minutes before officials explained to him that this wasn't Monday Night RAW and it wasn't 2005.
