Jon Stewart To Join Stephen Colbert To Cover Political Conventions
In this crazy election season in the U.S., one of the voices that has been missing is Jon Stewart. The former host of the Daily Show turned the desk over to Trevor Noah before the whole whacked-out election cycle really got going.
Now Vulture is reporting that Stewart will join his former Comedy Central partner Stephen Colbert on the Late Show for their live coverage of the Republican National Convention this week and the Democratic National Convention later next week..
Just how Stewart will be involved is unclear so far, but two full weeks to cover what Colbert is calling: "The 2016 Trumpublican Donational Conventrump" and "The 2016 Democratic National Convincing A Technically Historic Event: Death. Taxes. Hillary."
Colbert will broadcast live starting Monday, with on-site teams in Cleveland for the Republican convention and Philadelphia for the Democratic event. His guests for the two weeks of live shows include Senator Elizabeth Warren, John Oliver, Jeff Daniels, Keegan-Michael Key and former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner.
