Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris Leave The Good Luck Of Right Now Adaptation
Deadline reports Matthew Quick adaptation The Good Luck of Right Now has lost its directors, Little Miss Sunshine duo Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris.
This is a major bummer because this collaboration seemed like the perfect fit of style and sensibilities, and Dayton and Faris seemed like the perfect people to bring to life the story of three unlikely friends who embark on a road trip to visit a bunch of cats in Canada. You have to read it to get the full impact of it, but Quick wrote the original novel The Silver Linings Playbook, so that should give you some idea about the kind of quirky humor this one would have had as well.
Even more of a bummer is the fact that Brie Larson had been cast as one of the leads (another perfect fit of actor and character) and now that's in limbo as well as Dreamworks turn their attention to finding a new director.
I don't know about you, but this is almost upsetting me even more than Edgar Wright leaving Ant-Man.
