Magic Is Dying… The First Trailer For The Magicians Season 2

One of the shows that really surprised me last season as The Magicians on Syfy. Looking at the trailer for the first season, I'd gotten a feeling that it was kind of Harry Potter goes to College. By the end of episode one I was no longer thinking that. By the end of episode four, I'd seen some brilliant and subtle writing. By the end of the season finale, I just kept asking myself what in the hell I'd just watched. The series, when coming to a point of decision seemed to always take the most dark and twisted path. This is definitely NOT Harry Potter.

The cast lead by Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley and Arjun Gupta are breathing strong life into their literary counterparts. The Magicians is based on a book series by Lev Grossman and focuses on two childhood friends, Quentin and Julia, who grew up loving a series of children's novels about siblings that could travel to a magical land. They discover that magic exists in the real world and end up on two very different paths of learning. But they also discover there is a very dark force in the world and that the magical land truly exists.

The Magicians will be kicking off their second season in January. Syfy has released the first trailer for the new series this morning.
