Five Nights At Freddy's Star Shares His Thoughts on a Sequel
While talking about the film with Collider, all-star horror actor Matthew Lillard was asked about the chances of a sequel to Five Nights At Freddy's, with the actor explaining, "I don't know if it's gonna be greenlit, it certainly hasn't been greenlit for me, but the expectation is that they will be making more, and in success, it's Hollywood, they'll make a lot more. So, that's exciting. And if it does come back, and if I'm lucky to be brought back, sure, yeah. I mean, I barely got to touch him, right? I got to kill my daughter, but we know nothing about him. We know nothing about his history, about his journey. All those things that the fans have filled in for year after year, I'm excited to, with Scott and Emma, fill in all those pieces that the fans have always wondered about. That's the thing is, how do we fill out expectations and how do we fill out the lore? I'll be excited to be a piece of that story."
Five Nights At Freddy's synopsis: The film follows Mike (Josh Hutcherson; Ultraman, The Hunger Games franchise) a troubled young man caring for his 10-year-old sister Abby (Piper Rubio; Holly & Ivy, Unstable), and haunted by the unsolved disappearance of his younger brother more than a decade before. Recently fired and desperate for work so that he can keep custody of Abby, Mike agrees to take a position as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. But Mike soon discovers that nothing at Freddy's is what it seems. With the aid of Vanessa, a local police officer (Elizabeth Lail; You, Mack & Rita), Mike's nights at Freddy's will lead him into unexplainable encounters with the supernatural and drag him into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare."
Five Nights at Freddy's is currently available to stream on Peacock if you're still looking to experience the popular horror event for yourself.
