Netflix Releases Trailer For 'The Magic School Bus Rides Again'
Netflix has released the first official trailer for The Magic School Bus Rides Again. The return of the beloved children's series now features Kate McKinnon (Ghostbusters) as the new Ms. Frizzle leading a group of kids on many adventures using a high-tech magical school bus. Alhough the show uses the word 'magic', it's always been based around science and introducing kids to a variety of scientific theories and facts.
McKinnon got a lot of attention last year during the presidential elections for her portrayal of Hillary Clinton on Saturday Night Live. At the same time she was part of the all-female lead Ghostbusters reboot with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones.
McKinnon plays the sister of the original Ms. Valerie Frizzle from the original 52-episode series that ran from 1994 to 1997. Lily Tomlin provided the voice of Ms. Frizzle in the original series. Tomlin returns to the series as well, but now as Professor Frizzle. Hard to believe it's been 20 years since the original series ended.
Netflix's synopsis for the new series reads:
"Bus, do your stuff! The kids are back at Walkerville School for another school year of astonishing, out-of-this-world field trips in this all-new reimagining of the iconic science-comedy-adventure series The Magic School Bus."
The Magic School Bus Rides Again debuts September 22nd.
