Peter Capaldi Makes It Official, Will Leave Doctor Who After Series 10
Peter Capaldi has made it official, the 10th season of Doctor Who will be his last. In a tweet on the official Doctor Who account, the actor was quoted as saying: "It (the new series of Doctor Who) will be my last… I feel it's time to move on." He'll be stepping down in Christmas 2017, telling folks: "I'm still #DoctorWho! We're doing epic stuff! I'm not done yet!" Capaldi's comments were made during an interview with Jo Whiley on BBC2.
Capaldi won't be the only one leaving as showrunner Steven Moffat will also be moving on. Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) will be taking over with season 11. It seems right for a new writer to have a new Doctor in the same way Moffat started his tenure with Matt Smith.
