Ragman To Return To 'Arrow', Sometime… Maybe…

For fans of Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and the rest of the Arrowverse, Marc Guggenheim's Twitter account is s treasure trove of clues to upcoming episodes and he's also quite active and answers fans questions when he can. But as we found out earlier this month, those answers aren't always accurate. For example, take the case of the missing Ragman.

Though it was a while ago now, many of you remember that at the start of Arrow season five, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) recruited a new team that included Rory Regan (Joe Dinicol), the sole survivor of Haven Rock and possessor of the ancient rags that allowed him to become Ragman. This tied into the season four season finale when when Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) redirected a nuclear missile from hitting Star City to hitting the smaller city of Haven Rock, killing everyone there except Rory. This put some amazing tension in the room between the two characters and by far Ragman was the most powerful new recruit. His rags were pretty amazing… though he looked a bit like Prometheus.

Rory left the team after an incident in Russia, where he stopped a nuclear explosion by absorbing the blast into his suit. The ancient rags stop responding to him… or moving… making him powerless. He moved on with the idea that he might be back some day. A question that a fan wondered about, so they asked Guggenheim if Dinicol would be back this season. Guggenheim quickly responded with 'Yup. 605." This meant that Ragman or at least Rory would return in the fifth episode of the season — or so it appeared. A followup tweet by Guggenheim explained that he thought the question was about Joel Navola, who is returning for 605, but we should see Dinicol later this year.

If you're wondering who the heck is Joel Navola, he's the director of episode 605, as you can see by the title sheet that Guggenheim dropped on Friday. And his actual name is Joel Novoa and he directed the Dangerous Liaisons episode of season five, wherein Felicty helps Helix free Cayden James. Oh, and the episode title that Novoa is directing is… Deathstroke Returns. What that pertains to is anybody's guess. ;)
