Scorsese And DiCaprio To Re-Team For Killers Of The Flower Moon

Martin Scorsese is going to be a very busy man. He's already working on the Irishman for Netflix with Robert Di Nero, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel. Now, Variety is reporting that Scorsese is teaming once again with Leonardo DiCaprio to develop a film adaptation of the true-crime thriller, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI… which could be one of the longest book titles ever.

The report says Scorsese hopes to start shooting Flower Moon in the spring of next years, after the Irishman wraps. The project is based on the book by David Grann, a staff writer for the New Yorker and author of The Lost City of Z. The rights to the book cost $5 million by Imperative Entertainment and the script has been drafted by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump).

The story, set in the 1920s, focuses on a string of murders of members of the Osage nation in Oklahoma after oil was discovered beneath their land. The chilling series of slayings was one of the fledgling FBI's first major homicide investigations.
