Video Game Adaptation 'Rampage' Begins Production And Gets A Synopsis
Video game adaptations have not had a good run so far. The ones that are okay tend to be the ones that have almost nothing to do with the medium itself. Studios are determined to keep trying though so now we're getting an adaptation of Rampage starring Dwayne Johnson. The movie has begun production which means that a full synopsis appeared on Collider along with a cast list and Johnson posted a behind-the-scenes picture on instagram.
Summary: Primatologist Davis Okoye (Johnson), a man who keeps people at a distance, shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. To make matters worse, it's soon discovered there are other similarly altered alpha predators. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend.
We also have a full cast list which includes Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, P.J. Byrne, Marley Shelton, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, and Matt Gerald.
Johnson also posted a behind-the-scenes picture to his Instagram account talking about how they are going to bring the giant monsters to life.
Rampage will be released on April 20, 2018.
