WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil Tweets In Support Of NFL #TakeTheKnee Protests

In the last few days, following comments by President Donald Trump at a rally calling protesting NFL players like Colin Kaepernick "sons of bitches" and suggesting they should be fired for exercising their first amendment rights, backlash against Trump and support of protestors has been spreading throughout the sports world.

We've seen NBA star LeBron James burn Trump on Twitter, calling him a "bum," after Trump tried to act like had disinvited Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry from the White House after Curry already said he didn't want to go. James later went all in on Trump. At a game in the UK earlier today, the Ravens and Jaguars took a knee in protest of Trump's comments. NFL team owners have been making statements generally condemning Trump's comments, along with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodall on behalf of the league itself. The Steelers plan to stay in the locker room during the national anthem today.

The latest star from the sports world to show support for players is WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil. A college football player and player in the Arena Football League, it's no surprise that O'Neil would be tuned into what's going on in the football world. O'Neil is also a devout Christian who's heavily involved in charity work both inside and outside the WWE. He is the 2015 winner of the Celebrity Dad of the Year from the MEGA Dad Awards for his parenting skills. A former WWE Tag Team Champion, O'Neil has recently expanded his on-screen role in the company to managerial services, lending his charisma to up and coming wrestlers to help get them over with crowds.

WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil Tweets In Support Of NFL #TakeTheKnee Protests

And O'Neil has spent the last 24 hours supporting the #TakeTheKnee protests on social media, mainly by retweeting dozens of pro-protestor statements from various athletes, celebrities, and journalists, as well as a few responses of his own:

WWE owners Vince and Linda McMahon were big campaign donors to Donald Trump, and Linda McMahon serves on Trump's cabinet as the head of the Small Business Administration. Trump himself is a member of WWE's Hall of Fame. But that doesn't seem to bother Titus O'Neil, who has continued to be the loudest outspoken voice on this issue amongst his colleagues, many of whom have remained completely silent.

WWE's No Mercy PPV takes place tonight. O'Neil doesn't have a match on the card, but Apollo Crews, one of the members of his Titus Worldwide management stable, will face Elias on the No Mercy Kickoff Show.
