XCOM 2 Announced As A PC And Mac Exclusive For November Release
XCOM: Enemy Unknown came out in 2013 to really blow away a lot of people's expectations. What we got was an incredibly tactical overhead war game that had real stakes and a vast wealth of replayability. It was a real favorite of fans, and of mine.
That's why I'm excited about the newly announced XCOM 2. It was revealed as part of IGN First and shows that the XCOM operation seems to have gone underground in the face of some kind of alien assimilation. That's a neat idea, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm not sure XCOM: Enemy Unknown would have been such a success if it weren't for the relatively fantastic Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports, so I am at least a little surprised to hear that the game is currently only slated to hit PC and Mac. It will launch on Windows first in November and will make the jump to Mac later on.
Maybe we will see a console port later down the line? I'd assume so, but who knows?
