Zelda Wii U Is No Longer Planned For 2015
In a move that should surprise no one, Nintendo have today announced that the untitled Zelda Wii U game is getting pushed out of 2015.
In a video message to fans, the game's producer Eiji Aonuma addressed the problem directly saying:
I must apologize to all of you who were expecting the game by year's end, but we are no longer making a 2015 release our number one priority. Instead, our priority is to make the ultimate and most complete Zelda game.
I hope to use the added time to make a Zelda on Wii U that will reward you for your patience, so thank you for your continued support.
He goes on to explain that during development of the game, the team have found new ideas to explore which has pushed the release window back. Have a look at the video where Aonuma goes into the reasoning in a little detail.

As always, I'm all for this. More time to make a game better is always a good thing.
It does leave the Wii U without a major release for this year though and that should be the real worry. The console is already in trouble and it just lost it's tentpole title for the year. That can't be good in the long run.
