Shout Factory Announces New DVD/Blu-ray Releases Including UHF, Mad Max And The Facts Of Life

movieposterShout Factory releases the best nostalgic DVDs with exceptional bonus features. GI Joe and Transformers, Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and Freaks and Geeks. Power Rangers (a subject dear to my heart), and WKRP in Cincinnati. At Comic Con today, they announced a slew of new titles to get released on Blu-Ray/DVD.

UHF, the film by Weird Al Yankovic is going to be getting Shout Factory's deluxe bonus feature-laden home video release treatment. The film has been unavailable for years, but will be back in time for it's 25th anniversary.

All nine seasons of The Facts of Life.

Kyoryu Sentai Jyuranger, (Dinosaur Squad Jurassic-Ranger)the Japanese live action series which was adapted into the first season of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Where the yellow ranger is a dude, the Green Ranger dies, and the evil witch with cone-like hair sings. Shout Factory has already released Power Rangers seasons 1 through 20, and has released the Japan-exclusive Transformers series, so this is the logical next step. If this is successful, there is hope for the other 35+ Super Sentai series of color-coded heroes fighting rubber monsters with giant robots, many of which never made it to the US at all.

Their horror-focused Scream Factory imprint announced blu-rays for :

Invaders from Mars
New Year's Evil
Robert Eglund's Phantom of the Opera

Mad Max!

A new bonus-feature filled BluRay of Mad Max will be a must buy for many fans.
