Channel 4 Takes Rick And Morty From Netflix in the UK, Will Air and Stream Season 4 Exclusively

Rick And Morty, the highly acclaimed and popular sci-fi comedy animation created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network's late-night programming block Adult Swim, will see its much anticipated fourth series air on Channel 4 as a UK exclusive premiere later this year. Previously Rick And Morty aired in the UK on Netflix but that was removed last year

Before that, the first three seasons will air on its sister channel E4 in February.

This is part of a new deal that sees hundreds of hours of Adult Swim content coming to All 4, the Channel 4 streaming service.

Ian Katz, Channel 4 Director of Programmes, said, "Rick and Morty is one of the most anarchic, ingenious, and original shows around and the breakthrough animated hit of recent years. I'm thrilled that it's coming to Channel 4 and E4."

Rick and Morty will also be accompanied by the UK premiere of the Robot Chicken: The Walking Dead Special on E4. This will be the first of a regular new 'Adult Swim hour' block on E4, showcasing episodes from different Adult Swim shows that will be available to stream, as full series boxsets, exclusively on All 4 in the UK.

Over 300 episodes of Adult Swim content will be made available at launch, with hundreds more being added over the next three years, sitting in an Adult Swim-branded 'Featured Channel' alongside VICE and Walter Presents on All 4.

The Adult Swim channel will be available on the All 4 app across Channel 4 owned and operated platforms including iOS and Android devices, on big screens such as Amazon Fire TV, Freeview Play and Samsung TVs, as well as games consoles and online at

Shows will include Robot Chicken, The Venture Bros, The Eric Andre Show, Mostly 4 Millennials, Mr. Pickles, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, Tim & Eric's Bedtime Stories, Squidbillies, Hot Streets, Ballmastrz 9009, and more through 2019.

But Rick And Morty will be the headliner, especially considering that it is inspired by British-style storytelling, as opposed to traditional American family TV stories. Harmon has stated that his inspiration behind much of the concept and humour for the series comes from shows such as The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Doctor Who.

Consider this payback for Channel 4 after Netflix took Black Mirror
