Cody Rhodes Fails to Appear on WWE Raw Again

Adrenaline! In my soul! Where the hell is Cody Rhodes?! WWE Raw in Jacksonville Florida is in the record books, and despite all the speculation to the contrary, Cody Rhodes did not appear to set up an angle with Seth Rollins for WrestleMania.

Instead of Turning Heel, Cody Rhodes Just Insulted WWE Again

Despite WWE booking a completely nonsensical main event between Rollins and Kevin Owens, where Rollins would take over Owens' spot of getting stunned by Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania even though it was Owens who has been building a one-sided feud with Austin for weeks, causing fans to believe there was no reason for this match to exist if not for Stardust to come out at the end and give Rollins that path to WrestleMania he so desires, Cody did not show up, Rollins lost, and WWE Raw went off the air having completely wasted everyone's time.

A Cody Rhodes debut in Jacksonville would have really stuck it to AEW, which is one of the reasons everyone expected it to happen last night. However, it's possible that the death of Scott Hall led WWE to pull back on plans, not wanting a more debut to overshadow or be overshadowed by that. It's also possible that the whole thing has been a work from the start and Cody is going to show up on Dynamite to announce he's taking over Ring of Honor and ending racism. Who knows? Only the man himself.

Perhaps next week will be the week that we find out whether Cody Rhodes will be at WrestleMania. Or maybe WWE will simply keep milking it as the best way to get viewers to slog through three hours of WWE Raw every week, expecting but never getting some kind of payoff to all the teases. Hey, they've got to try something.

A prophecy claims that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Unfortunately, nobody can tell when the comics industry has reached its "darkest days" because it somehow keeps finding new lows to sink to. No matter! Jude Terror stands vigilant, bringing the snarkiest of comic book and pro wrestling clickbait to the undeserving readers of Bleeding Cool.
