NXT Preview For 8/31: A Big Night Of Grudge Matches

Hey gang!  Last week's episode of NXT served as almost a trailer for this week's episode (probably because they filmed four weeks of episodes in two nights), so let's see if the payoff was worth it!  We saw lots of head-butting to establish some new potential rivalries and tonight, we have a card of matches to look forward to featuring match-ups we haven't seen before.  Let's take a look at what the black and gold (for now… until the new rainbow spin-art era begins) brand has in store for us tonight.

It's a pretty nice card of matches tonight, but the stand-out might be the battle between Johnny Gargano and LA Knight in a match that was made on the spot by NXT GM William Regal last week.

Johnny Gargano has a lot on his mind these days and will now have to deal with the arrogant LA Knight inside the squared circle.

Johnny Wrestling found himself in Mr. Regal's office on Tuesday in hopes of getting the scheduled Indi Hartwell & Dexter Lumis wedding called off. As Gargano pleaded his case, LA Knight stormed in with his own agenda, and the two outspoken Superstars ended up throwing barbs at each other.

Who will stand tall when the two converge in the ring?

In addition to that battle, we also have Kyle O'Reilly taking on Duke Hudson after their backstage brawl last week, Tommaso Ciampa finally getting his hands on Ridge Holland in singles action, Ikemen Jiro answering Roderick Strong's open challenge, and the return of the new NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov in his first appearance since defeating WALTER in their instant classic at NXT TakeOver 36.
