A Full Playthrough Of The Order: 1886 Has Leaked Online And It's 5 And 1/2 Hours Long
Honestly, my time to play games has become a little restricted of late, so I have come to appreciate shorter gaming experiences. A game doesn't need to be 30+ hours to be good and tell a worthwhile story. Many indie game with an hour or two run through are some of my favorites.
Still, when a game is released at full retail, gamer's obviously have an expectation for the amount of value they'll receive. It will be interesting to see the reaction to the news that a The Order: 1886 run through has turned up online at 5 and a half hours long. A complete walkthrough of the game turned up on PlayMeThrough's YouTube Channel showing a somewhat short run. For a game that doesn't have multiplayer to extend the experience, that might feel decidedly light to some.
It's worth noting that PlayMeThrough blitzes through the game, skipping what he can and barely dying, so this may be on the shorter end of the spectrum of expected run times. If you are an explorer who likes to look through every nook and cranny, you might get significantly more time with the game. One NeoGAF user even suggested it took them 12 hours to get through.
To me? As I said, I don't much care about a game's run time. I care that what is there is good. As I also said though, I know some people expect more playtime after putting money down on a game.
To get a fairer understanding of the run time, it may be best to wait for reviews. Mine should be coming later this week.
