Nintendo Want To Release Two Or Three Mobile Games A Year From Now On
Nintendo's ventures into mobile have been a hard thing to interpret thus far. Miitomo certainly caught the eye of many, but didn't really have staying power. Pokemon Go took the world by storm, but wasn't really a Nintendo joint past a blessing. Super Mario Run was downloaded nearly 80 million times, but was only bought 5% of the time. It has been a success for exposure, but each title comes with big caveats.
That doesn't mean Nintendo are withdrawing from the market yet though. According to Reuters, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has said that there will be a new Nintendo mobile game two or three times a year for the foreseeable future.
Not much more information was given about any of this, but this does come after a disappointing sales report from the company, meaning the Nintendo is probably trying to appease investors. Still, Nintendo are creative enough to make great mobile games. Now that the team has well and truly dipped its toes in the water, hopefully they find ways to release more without any of the caveats seen above.
