Billie Piper Confirms Rose Would Still Be In Love With Jodie Whittaker's Female Doctor

At DragonCon this weekend, former Doctor Who star Billie Piper said that her character, Rose, would still be in love with the new Doctor, even though she's a woman and Rose was not previously portrayed as bisexual.

Piper was a companion and love interest during the tenures of Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant, but if you thought that meant that Rose was only interested in boy Doctors, you're in for a surprise. Piper revealed that if Rose were still around on the show, she would continue to be in love with The Doctor — even though he's set to regenerate into a woman played by Jodie Whitaker.

When accounts of Piper's comments made their way to UK media outlet Attitude, Piper officially confirmed her stance on Twitter, calling Jodie Whittaker "a babe."

Piper had previously campaigned for a female Doctor, even though she said she'd be unwilling to take the role herself. Jodie Whittaker will make her debut as the Doctor in the Doctor Who Christmas special this December.
