Karen Gillan Thinks the "Time Is Now" for an All Female Marvel Movie

About a month ago a picture emerged on the internet of all the ladies from the Marvel movies standing together. It was awesome to see these heroes together, including Brie Larson who we have not met yet, and IndieWire spoke to actress Karen Gillan about the picture and the pitch that followed.

"I had no idea when we were taking that picture that it would sort of break the internet a little bit," Gillan said.

The internet decided that this picture was everything they had ever wanted and it turns out several of the women in the picture, which includes Tessa Thompson, Zoe Saldana, Brie Larson, Scarlett Johansson, Danai Gurira, Evangeline Lilly, and Pom Klementeiff, agreed. Thompson has already said they were pitching an all-female movie to Kevin Feige and Gillan talked about the pitch too.

"Brie Larson was like, 'We should go up to Kevin Feige and tell him to make an all-female Marvel movie,' so we all marched up there in a group, a whole herd of us, and said that to him," Gillan said. "He was like, 'Yeah, that would be amazing!' but he didn't really commit to it, but he thought it would be a great idea."

In a year where Wonder Woman came in and was one of the biggest hits of the year Gillan believes there isn't a better time.

"Now is the time, more than ever," Gillan said. "Look at the success of 'Wonder Woman.' It's clear that we all want that."

We want more ladies on screen being awesome in general.
