Black Panther Joins a New Avengers #1 by Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness

Bleeding Cool had previously rumoured that Marvel would be restarting Avengers with a new #1 for May 2018 by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic, kicking off with Free Comic Book Day. We were wrong. It's Ed McGuinness, not Esad Ribic.

In what is likely to be a series of these today, IGN has an exclusive reveal.

The new Avengers series will ship 18 times a year and be the single Avengers title going forward.

The Legacy numbering is gone but may remain in some form.

The lineup includes Thor Odinson, Steve Rogers, and Tony Stark alongside Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Hulk (Jennifer Walters) and Doctor Strange, who will only be on the team for a limited time in a "rotating slot." Oh, and Black Panther. Well, he does have a film out.

The series will also feature the 1,000,000 B.C. Avengers with the Dark Celestials, as seen in Marvel Legacy, threatening them both.

And what is Thor's new hammer all about?
