Confirmed: Batman #9 Will Set Up Barbara Gordon: Breakout #1

Batman #9 by Matt Fraction and Ryan Sook sets up Barbara Gordon: Breakout #1 by Mariko Tamaki and Amancay Nahuelpan for DC Next Level

Batman #9 by Matt Fraction and Ryan Sook is out on the 9th of May, and going to FOC this weekend. And DC Comics has confirmed that the issue will set up the upcoming Next Level title, Barbara Gordon: Breakout #1 by Mariko Tamaki and Amancay Nahuelpan, which goes to FOC next week and will be published the week after. Which sees Barbara Gordon, Batgirl, trying to break out of prison.  Which means, given that Batman #9 sees Poison Ivy and Vandal Savage working together as part of the deal made by Mayor Pamela Isely and Police Commissioner Vandal Savage to bring order to Gotham, ahead of the Bad Seeds event, probably spoils the ending for Batman #9 a bit. In that, we know that Barbara Gordon, whether as Batgirl or now, will be arrested. And explaining the cover text, One Will Fall… and retailers who meet their orders for Batman #4 with their orders for Batman #9 can then order further bundles of twenty-five for $25 each.
