In the wake of NYCC gossip reports that new management under a restructured Warner Bros were shocked to be handed a Batpenis controversy in the first few days of new DC President Pamela Lifford's tenure, leading to much corporate embarrassment and DC Comics being put "under the microscope," DC has revealed that they will share a "super-sized" booth with their parent company at San Diego Comic-Con this year. Of course, the press release from DC spins it in a positive light:
DC and Warner Bros. to Join Forces in New, Super-Sized Booth Space at San Diego Com-Con International!
The convention floor at San Diego Comic-Con International will look a little different to DC fans in 2019. For the first time, the DC booth will stand shoulder to shoulder with parent company Warner Bros.' booth, bringing together two powerhouse brands and creating a new super-sized space that will provide the ultimate Con experience!
The combined DC/Warner Bros. booth will be located in the entertainment section of the exhibit hall, in close proximity to Artists' Alley. DC and WB will reveal more details in 2019, leading up to the Con. With the new layout fans will experience worlds of DC comic books, films, television and more, alongside an array of popular Warner Bros. franchises – all in a single, continuous visit.
This exciting news comes as the first details regarding registration for SDCC have been released. 2019 will mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic comic event.
Whether or not the move has anything to do with the Batpenis, it's surely another sign that DC Comics is becoming more integrated under the newly merged AT&T/Time Warner behemoth. Will that be for the better? Let us know what you think.
