Free Comic Book Day 2015 At Collectors Corner – The Documentary

Randy Myers of Collectors Corner, of Maryland, writes,

Free Comic Book Day at Collectors Corner this year was even smoother and more exciting than last year, with our first fan lining up at 8:00 PM on Thursday evening.

By 1:00 AM Friday over 20+ People were waiting in line. By 9:00 AM Over 400 People in Line ready for the countdown spanning 3 Blocks.

We Opened the doors and allowed fans to start grabbing their Free Comics in the tents at 9:00 AM. This year we were giving out 50 Avengers :

Age of Ultron Movie Tickets to the first 50 in line, and $25 worth of Merchandise including Graphic Novels, Comics and Collectibles to the first 50 in line as well as $20 in Merchandise to the next 50 in line.

In addition to the 5 FREE Comics everyone could choose from every FCBD 2015 Title Offered each person got to choose 20 FREE Back Issues.

Featured interviews include CC Owner Randy Myers, CC employees Dave & Sara, Creators Michael Bracco, Tyler Jenkins, Sara Richards, Justin Jordan, PLB Studios, Face Value Comics and others along with longtime customers and fans!

Attendance was more than (3,000) at Collectors Corner HQ (Main Store Shown here in the Video)

40,000+ Comics including Free Back Issues were given Away!

80+ FREE Pizzas provided by Dominics Pizza & Subs were decimated.

We would like to send out A HUGE Thanks to everyone that helped make Free Comic Book Day a great success at both Collectors Corner & Collectors Corner – Bel Air!

Firstly OUR Customers, both old and new, and first timers on FCBD…and i use the term customers loosely, you are family to us without those that understand our mission to create more comic book fans, readers we would have nothing and not be able to give back on a day like #FCBD!

Creators Tyler Jenkins, Kata Kane, Nate Getz, Tony Calandra, Michael Bracco, Sara Richards, Justin Jordan, PLB Studios, Face Value Comics, John French, GOCC : GIRLS ONLY COMICS CLUB TM (Collectors Corner), and of course all of our incredible Staff along with the tremendous help of the all volunteer CC Army!

Our Cosplay Team bringing the fun and walk ins into the event at both stores, Maki Rolle, Sarah Fong, Murder Nurse, Leigh Alexander, Jason Alpern and everyone else too!

Super Art Fight for working hard and entertaining the crowds at both locations. A big hit with everyone and likely a new tradition that we hope to see year after year!

At CC HQ we saw over 3,000 Fans throughout the day gathering in an orderly fashion.

At CC Bel Air we saw 1500+ Fans at the Second FCBD for this location and nothing but smiles as far as the eye could see!

The winners of our 4th Annual FCBD Costume Contest were Little Sister, Ghost Rider, Spider Woman & Moon Knight.

Tons of children and families this year again, always a good sign for the future.

Documentary filmed by Jeff Otradovec & Corey Chaney during the day with interviews and footage from morning til afternoon along with our own in store videos taken by volunteers & fans along with photos by professional photographer, Mark Gross.

Collectors Corner would like to thank everyone again for making this year our most fun Free Comic Book Day ever! A Huge thanks to our customers who spread the word that not only is Collectors Corner the best place to be for FCBD, but the Best place to be every Wednesday for New Comics and hang out. Without our awesome customers none of these events would be possible!

Now we start planning for next year…
