A Heartwarming Ending To Feathers

(***If you haven't read the issue yet, I wouldn't continue any farther into the review, because I will be spoiling the main reveals below.)
We learn that the masked villain, who never really had much of an identity is actually the Captain. Hungry with power, he strips Poe of his feathers because they have magical qualities. Following that, there are many admirable moments that will truly bring a warm feeling to your heart. Between Poe's father courageously attacking the Captain to help Poe, and Bianca apologizing for her previous behavior, things begin to wrap up nicely. In the end it was safe to assume that the Captain would be defeated, but I did manage to hold on to that awful feeling asking myself, "who's going to die and make me cry?" until the end of the issue.
I will say, I enjoy the way Corona wrapped up the issue. We shift from the normal scenes featuring the colorful cast of characters, to a hovering conversation between two mysterious people. Of course now I'm left wanting more with the way it all ended. It's one of those things that you can accept as an ending because it was done so well, but at the same time you would really love to spend some more time in that world. To end, I just want to express one more time how amazing this series is/was. Corona transports you to a new place that leaves you with a homey warm feeling, despite all of the exciting events that happen throughout the plot. I can't wait for it to be collected in a volume, because it's definitely something that one should own, and display proudly on a bookshelf. If you haven't had a chance to read Feathers yet, I can't urge you enough to pick up the issues. Hopefully this won't be the last time we get to spend time with Poe and Bianca.
