Horror Deprived? Crossed: Dead Or Alive Returns To The Web Today
There was a holiday break that might have made your skin crawl a little wondering what was going to happen next in the free webcomic Crossed: Dead or Alive, written by Garth Ennis that is also the fundraiser for live-action Crossed webisodes.
While the comic is free, it's there to raise awareness of the campaign that is a crowdfunding system coming straight from the publisher, Avatar Press. You can pledge to the project and receive extensive packages of Crossed merchandise already in existence without the waiting usually associated with Crowdfunding.
So far, we've had quite an unusual Crossed story in Dead or Alive, currently on its 7th chapter (all still available to read for free), wherein a strange POV character survives the Crossed outbreak on an airplane, a devastating plane crash, and takes up with a band of survivors in the Colorado wilderness. Each member of the group has different strengths and weaknesses, but the comic really homes in on just how flawed people are and what's going to keep them from surviving such difficult conditions physically or emotionally. There are more surprises to come as our crash survivor's plans for personal survival develop and more is revealed about his past.
Dive in to Dead or Alive for a close-up study of human nature in survival conditions.
