Jeff Parker Talks The Rebirth Of The Hanna-Barbera Characters

Jeff Parker has been given the reigns of Future Quest, the new series from the partnership between DC Comics and Hanna-Barbera. The series features the characters from Johnny Quest, Space Ghost, Herculoids, The Galaxy Trio, The Impossibles, Frankenstein Jr. and Birdman. Parker, who is teaming with Evan 'Doc' Shaner and Jordie Bellaire, describes Future Quest as their "Rebirth" for the classic cartoon characters of the 60's.

Parker seems to be poking a little bit of fun at the characters he's working with as he describes Race Bannon as "the guy who shoots people" and Birdman as "the guy who flies around and yells his own name".

Most important from the interview seems to be the introduction of a new villain, Omnicron, who pulls all the characters together. But he's not new to all of them as he is tied directly into the never before seen origin of Space Ghost.

Future Quest hit comic shops yesterday.
