Ken Haeser Shares His Process Art For His Swordquest #4 Cover

Swordquest is an interesting comic project from Dynamite entertainment and Atari. The game from the 80's was meant to be something special with four versions released, a nationwide contest for players and specially crafted prizes. It didn't go so well. But the comic is doing good and we recently ran the solicitation for the fourth issue that included a cover by artist Ken Haeser and colors by Blair Smith. Haeser took to his facebook page and shared the process art for the cover, going from layout to inks, colors and the full trade dress.

Haeser is an artist on the Grumpy Cat series and is co-creator of The Living Corpse. You can kind of see a hint at his old series in the skull hanging from the minotaur's chest. The detail work on the hair is amazing… and that looks like steam coming out of his mouth in the colored versions. This is definitely not someone I'd want to meet in a dark alley.
