The Poetry Of Avengers Vs X-Men #2

Today, we get the second issue of Avengers Vs X-Men. We've had the jaw jaw. Now it's time for the war war. And all the horrors that war brings. The violence, the death, the stripping away of humanity and, worst of all, the poetry.

That's right, there's nothing so much that defines a war as some poor soldier in a bunker scribbling away some allegory between war and a field of opium poppies, using the blood and pus from his infected shot up leg so that in fifty years teachers will use it as a vain attempt to get bloodthirsty kids interested in poetry.

And so it is with Avengers Vs X-Men #2. Brief captions that are rather poetic in nature, from Jason Aaron. You know, I missed this sort of thing, haven't really seen it since the last golden days of Chris Claremont. "Slick-silk" was a favourite of his that still sits in the back of my cranium.

So a little jiggling and pokering around and you get something that might actually pass. I present, The Battle On The Beach by Jason Aaron.
