UFOlogy #3 Is Brilliant And Terrifying
After a terrifying nightmare, Becky is out of the hospital! From BOOM! Studios, written by James Tynion IV and Noah J. Yuenkel, with art by Matthew Fox, UFOlogy #3 gives us the action we've been waiting for. Now that Becky has to return to her normal life with her bandaged glowing head, things are a lot different for her at school. While Malcolm continues on his own discovery quest, he realizes it might be a lot more difficult now that he's not allowed to use his father's car. So, he goes to Becky for help. What follows is a brilliant, terrifying issue.
Tynion and Yuenkel write a really thorough well balanced script with just the right amount of suspense. There are seriously moments that give me chills, and I'm not just talking about goose bumps. I'm talking about "I need to turn all of the lights on in the house," chills. Matthew Fox's art style is just as haunting as the script and as I mentioned in my last review, I'm going to urge you to make sure you take some time to savor each and every panel of the comic. There are little bits everywhere that are worth paying attention to.
Prepare yourself for one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of the issue. I stared at the final page for a few minutes before I told myself that I would be able to wait another month to see what happens next. I know that I tend to blab about how awesome BOOM! Studios comics are (and they are), but this is easily their new comic to watch. There is something very unique and fascinating inside of these pages. If you haven't picked it up yet, I highly recommend adding it to your pull list.
