Annapurna's Donut County Got a New Trailer at PSX Tonight
The Playstation Experience (PSX 2017) trailer for Annapurna Interactive's Donut County features a couple of gamer stereotypes disguised as trash pandas. Yes, that's right, a couple of video gaming raccoons asking all the pertinent questions about Donut County like "does it have a platinum trophy." Because nothing sells games to gamers more than making fun of them, right? Well, it sold me anyhow.
Considering Donut County is a puzzle game using some delightful applications of physics which makes my inner nerd particularly amused. Back at E3 in June, our own Gavin Sheehan got to play around with Donut County at the show, and said "it reminded me a little of the Katamari games in a way" as you solve puzzles to uncover the story which is told in storybook chapters.
You can check out that lovely "updog" gameplay in action in the PSX trailer below. Donut County is slated for release in 2018 for Mac, PC, iOS, and PlayStation 4.
Donut County is a physics adventure game where you control a hole in the ground. Every time you swallow something, the hole grows a little bit bigger: http://donutcounty.com
