Legacy of the First Blade is the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey and will run as something of an episodic story expansion. The first episode of Legacy will release on December 4th across all platforms and introduces players to the assassin Darius, who was the first to use the Assassin's hidden blade. You know, the series' iconic weapon that had so far been left out of the last two games? Of course, the design of the hidden blade is a bit different, as Darius's weapon is the first of its kind. Rather than having the blade on the inside of the wrist (and losing a finger), the hidden blade is instead anchored on the outside. It isn't obvious if that will have any kind of effect on the use of the weapon, but from the small bits we've seen so far, that doesn't look likely.
Darius himself is something of a mystery. The first episode will focus on whether or not he can be trusted, or if he's another snake in the grass.
Legacy of the First Blade will introduce a whole new conflict into the world of Odyssey and will feature new characters, more naval battles, new and more powerful enemies, and some interesting revelations about the Assassin's Creed universe.
The rest of the story will follow in 2019 with the second episode, Shadow Heritage, and the third, Bloodline.
As for the rest of the post-launch Odyssey plans, Ubisoft has the most ambitious roadmap in mind for the game, which includes another major episodic storyline, The Fate of Atlantis which will release later next year. Both story DLC are available as part of the Season Pass, which also includes Assassin's Creed III Remastered and Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered, which will be available in March 2019. They're also available a la carte for $24.99 USD , though you do save quite a bit with the $39.99 USD season pass.
Legacy of the First Blade will be available for download on December 4th for Season Pass holders or owners of the Gold Edition of Odyssey.
