Atari Teams With Misfit For Special JK5 Artist Capsule Collection

Atari announced a brand new collaboration this past week with artist JK5, as the two have created this special capsule collection. The small set of items were created as part of the company's 50's anniversary, with an art style that highlights many of the iconic images that people associate with the brand in a cool design. They have released a poster, a hoodie with the poster art on it, and a wristwatch through watch maker Misfit. We have more details on all of these for you below as they have now been released to the public for the holidays.

"The Capsule Collection includes an exclusive wrist watch inspired by JK5's original artwork ($85), limited-edition artist print poster ($20) and ultra-collectible hoodie embellished with over 500 Swarovski crystals ($300, only 25 made). The limited-edition collection explores JK5's favorite Atari environments and characters, including AdventureBaseball, and Asteroids, layering them on top of one another to create a celebratory new world that commemorates some of his most illustrative childhood memories."

Misfit x Atari 50th – Artist Edition JK5 Wrist Watch

  • Graphics designed based JK5's original artwork
  • One-of-a-kind watch display stand inspired by Atari's iconic joystick controller
  • 42MM semi-translucent ombre gradient case playing homage to retro vintage gaming aesthetics
  • Limited edition collectible artist trading card featuring JK5'S original artwork

Born in 1970, JK5 recalls not only the launch of Atari's first gaming console but the hours upon hours he used to spend with friends playing the games. "Summers were spent riding BMX bikes around town with friends in search of arcades," said JK5. " To say Atari was a formidable force in my childhood is an understatement. When I was asked by Misfit to take on designing a collectible watch celebrating Atari's 50th anniversary, I jumped at the chance to translate my childhood into a piece of art."
