"Black Desert" Kicks Off Their Open PS4 Beta Today

Pearl Abyss has officially kicked off the open beta for Black Desert on the PS4 today before the game launches in two weeks on August 22nd. The beta will run from August 9th-13th, allowing players to explore the open-world MMORPG as much as they'd like. And if they choose to buy the game later, all their progress from the beta will carry over to the game. Black Desert is available for pre-order with Standard ($30), Deluxe ($40) and Ultimate ($100) Editions. Deluxe and Ultimate Editions allow 48-hour early access to the full game, and PlayStation Plug members can get 10% off.

Become your true self in the Open Beta, available to all players without a PlayStation Plus subscription required:

  • Explore the lands of Serendia, Balenos and Calpheon with six character classes, including the Warrior, Sorceress, Ranger, Berserker, Wizard and Witch.

  • Adventurers can create their ideal characters through the robust customization tool, embarking on a journey to reach a maximum level of 50.

  • Participate in GM events within the world such as cart racing, fishing, and hide-n-seek for a chance to win exclusive prizes and content.

  • Downloading the Open Beta rewards players with the exclusive Sky Hawk pet when Black Desert launches on August 22, which can loot items, increases Knowledge Gain Chance and finds rare monsters.
