CD Projekt Red Are Being Ransomed For Cyberpunk 2077 Secrets

cyberpunk2077

Some days it seems like the world is against CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077, and today is shaping up to be one of those days. The Witcher developer revealed today on Twitter that thieves had stolen documents on the studio's first major non-Witcher title, and were holding them for ransom.

If the whole "trademarking the word Cyberpunk" saga taught you anything at all about CD Projekt Red, it should be obvious that they wouldn't take that lying down. The studio has refused to cooperate with demands and insist that the public will only know about the state of Cyberpunk 2077 when CD Projekt Red decides. And we support that entirely.

The tweet from the developer included the following statement:

While they did not offer further comment on the statement, it was confirmed by Kotaku that the statement is legitimate, despite coming on company letterhead by the dev's official twitter account.

cD Projekt Red have remained quiet about their upcoming game, and we have very little information about the project. Cyberpunk 2077 remains a mystery. But it might have drivable, flying vehiciles like any proper sci-fi story. Because it's just not the future without flying cars and blackmail.
