Did 2K Games File A Trademark For "Mafia 4"?

According to the latest information online, it looks like 2K Games have officially filed a trademark for Mafia 4. Or at least, the series in general. Segment Next caught wind of the trademark filing, showing that the company filed for a new one on August 2nd, 2019. Specifically for the name "MAFIA" in all caps. The franchise hasn't had a new game out since 2016, and by all accounts, a new one was being worked on by Hanger 13 before the company was split into different sections. The project never got past the development phase which was supposed to send players to the glory days of Las Vegas before it became a tourist trap.

If 2K Games are filing for a new trademark, then it looks like the company will be aiming to revitalize Mafia 4 and get it back into production. But whether or not the old idea will still fly or if they have a new one in mind is still an unknown factor in all this. We'll know soon enough whenever the trademark is approved or denied, we're guessing within the next two months.
