Get Even's Facebook Community Channel Is Bending Reality In The Run Up To Release
The Farm 51 and Bandai Namco's Get Even is seeking to alter your perception of reality with their latest social media campaign. The game's Facebook community channel will be posting videos and riddles every week in the run up to the game's release. The teaser information is about as vague as you'd expect of a horror mystery game.
"Reality starts to change – the environment is only a product of your own state of mind. Who's that girl? What happened to her? Relax and explore, remember? Sometimes light reveals dark secrets. It all started on this dismal date. Find the clues. Save the girl."
That's what we get for asking, I suppose. What we do know is that Get Even is a first person action game by the Polish game studio that brought us NecroVision and it's sequel NecroVision: Lost Company. It borrows heavily from other first person games, but especially from horror franchises like Silent Hill. You can play either as a single player working with an AI team, or in multiplayer with friends, and you'll playing a mercenary named Cole Black who is trying to save a hostage hooked up to a bomb. Of course that hostage is a girl. Now, the reality-bending piece comes in when you realize that Cole is experiencing things through an advanced VR helmet. So now he has to figure out what is real and what isn't.
To capitalize on that reality-bending action, the game's Facebook page already has a nice image puzzle for fans to work out.
Get Even will be out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 26th.
