Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Leads BAFTA Game's Nominations
BAFTA has announced the nominations for its game awards which is set take place next month, and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice leads the way.
2017 was a hell of a year for video games. Several titles will likely be remembered and influential for years to come, be it the phenomenon of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or the open world of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There were also smaller, but poignant titles like What Remains of Edith Finch and artistic showcases like Cuphead. It really did have everything and it's getting one last send off too from one of the most prestigious arts champions in the world, BAFTA.
The nominations for the BAFTA Video Game Awards 2018 have now been released and it is a pretty diverse and eclectic table of nominees. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice leads the nominations with nine nominations. It's a huge number for a smaller studio game, but it is clear the jury is pretty sweet on the game from Cambridge. Horizon: Zero Dawn is also a big presence too only just behind with eight of its own nominations. Both are nominated for Best Game, and are joined by Assassin's Creed Origins, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and What Remains of Edith Finch.
