There were rumours circulating over the past few days that a second iteration of the HTC Vive might be on the way at this weeks CES. For many early adopters of the expensive tech, it was a gut punch, having coughed up a ton for the hardware already.
Well, it seems all can breathe a sigh of relief. Speaking to PC Gamer, HTC confirmed that there will be no announcement at CES. They said:
"There is no truth to the rumor of launching Vive 2 at CES 2017. At Vive, we are laser focused on building out a strong and growing ecosystem for current and future Vive owners so they can experience the best room-scale VR with the most compelling content available.
As an early adopter and lover of VR and the Vive, this is nice to hear, but I do expect to hear several things about VR over the next week at the tech trade show.
