Pokkén Tournament DX Has A Brand-New Trailer
Late last night, Nintendo released a brand-new trailer for upcoming fighting game Pokkén Tournament DX. You know, the Tekken of Pokémon.
The trailer shows some of the Pokémon that will make an appearance in the game — some are from the original 150, a few from the second generation, while the rest hail from the newer games. So far, we know we'll be getting Pikachu, Charizard, and Decidueye, among others.
Of course, we also get the usual party line about enjoying the game anytime, anywhere — the standard Switch Pitch.
Pokkén Tournament DX is a new remaster of the fighting game created for the Nintendo Switch, which originally debuted as Pokkén Tournament for Wii U. The game was developed by Bandai Namco under the supervision of fighting game guru Katsuhiro Harada of Tekken fame, which explains the name and why it plays so very similarly to every Tekken ever.
This game marks the second major remaster of a Wii U game after Mario Kart Deluxe, which worked pretty well for Nintendo, so it's not surprising that they're trying again with Pokkén Tournament. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of Wii U games remastered for the Switch in the coming years, as so few people picked them up the first time around.
