Splatoon 2's Salmon Run Gets A Schedule Change
Splatoon 2 has one of the oddest systems in place for one of the best modes in the game. Salmon Run has quickly become the mode to play as you and a team defend an area against a horde of crazed salmon trying to take over the platform. Sadly, however, this mode is only available at certain times of the day on a schedule that makes zero sense.
Previously, the system has been running on a 12-hour window of opportunity to play. Later tonight, Nintendo updated the Salmon Run schedule so it will have a 24-hour window of opportunity. What does that actually mean? It means that instead of times being set within a specific window of twelve hours (depending on your location around the globe) the system will not have a totally open schedule where there will be scheduled play time at all hours of the day.
The downside to all this: it's still on a dumb schedule. Why Nintendo feels they need to regulate this mode in Splatoon 2 instead of letting people be able to access it whenever there are people around to play is uncertain and makes no sense. Perhaps this is Nintendo seeing how much of an interest there is compared to their other modes, but if online complaints are any indication, they already have a large base of fans wanting to play it whenever they feel like.
