Square Enix Appoints Takeshi Aramaki as Head of Luminous Productions
Square Enix's Luminous Productions is the studio that developed Final Fantasy XV and recently saw some major organizational shakeups. Studio head and FFXV Game Director Hajime Tabata left the studio back in October and recently opened his own studio, JP Games. In the wake of Tabata's departure, we learned that the ambitious plans for Final Fantasy XV's post-launch development were largely scrapped. Only one of the four planned character-centered DLC packs will be released, which is a bit of a shame.
However, studio leadership was still very much a mystery. Until now. Square Enix has appointed former FFXV Lead Programmer Takeshi Aramaki as VP of Development at Luminous Productions. In a statement at the top of the Luminous Productions homepage, Aramaki discusses his new role and the studio's new project:
I'm Takeshi Aramaki, VP of Development at LUMINOUS PRODUCTIONS.
I had the honor of being the lead programmer for FINAL FANTASY XV.
In developing FFXV, we meticulously pursued the potential of games, from the open world system to the application of emotion-filled AI. This philosophy is ingrained in our staff and LUMINOUS ENGINE, our proprietary creative toolset, and continues to grow each day. We are currently making steady progress on a brand new title. We cannot wait to show you, and we hope that you look forward to its reveal.

Further down the page, you'll find listings for current job openings at the studio. The current openings include Environment Artist, Concept Artist, and Graphics Programmer jobs likely tied into this new project.
The statement above includes everything we know about the project so far, but hopefully we'll hear more soon.
